My name is Gianluca, and I was born and raised in the heart of Rome, within the imperial walls. My passion for the history and art of the Eternal City led me to become a tour guide, with the goal of sharing my love for Rome and helping tourists discover its millennia-long history. My interest in antiquity drove me, during my university studies, to also explore ancient civilizations and their writing systems. This is how my deep passion for Chinese language, culture, and history was born, as well as for its fascinating script.
I studied Chinese language and culture at some of the most prestigious universities in China, including Tsinghua University in Beijing, Wuhan University (Wuda), and Southwest University in Chongqing. I also lived and worked in Asia for several years, further immersing myself in its culture.
In Rome, I love strolling through the city and leading tourists on tours that range from classic itineraries to customized experiences tailored to meet the needs of each individual visitor. In 2023, together with my colleague Sofia, I decided to launch our tour operator, Green Fox, to offer unique and personalized experiences. My name is Sofia, and I graduated from the University of Venice with a Master’s degree in Interpreting and Publishing/Industry Translation. I hold a TEM-8 certificate in English and a C2 certificate in Italian, and I am fluent in Chinese, Italian, and English. Since childhood, I have always been drawn to poetry and distant places, so in university, I decided to delve deeper into the culture and traditions of a country that shares many similarities with China: Italy. I chose a bilingual English-Italian program for my studies.
From the very beginning of my university journey, I started making friends with Italian exchange students, and through mutual support in language learning, I developed a deep fascination for Italy. After graduating, I chose to further my studies and live in Italy to immerse myself in its rich culture and lifestyle. It turned out to be the perfect decision: during my two years as a Master’s student, I not only improved my language skills but also discovered a strong passion for the tourism industry.
I enjoy sharing cultural stories and local traditions with tourists, revealing aspects they didn’t know about, and I love receiving positive feedback from visitors who feel they’ve gained something meaningful from my guidance. In 2023, when Gianluca told me about his idea to start a travel agency, I immediately decided to join him. Our goal is to offer tourists something beyond the typical photo-op itineraries. We aim to help them discover the charm of a place in a more engaging and lively way, providing experiential tourism that leaves not just photographs but also warm and lasting cultural impressions.
